Bree gets braces.
Angela, Jan, and Bree walk in Seattle’s MLK Day march. It’s a surprisingly warm, dry day for mid-January. We walk from the start at Garfield High School to Madison St. (maybe halfway), then finally give into Bree and walk back to the car.
Our neighbor David takes Jan up to Snoqualmie Pass for a fun morning of cross-country skiing. David’s dogs, Summit and Royal, tag along. It’s been 20+ years since Jan was last on cross-country skis, but he does okay. It helps that David’s skiing on ancient, slow skis and Jan’s skiing on new, faster rentals.
Liya and Anya march in Seattle’s Women’s March. (Angela recently injured her foot, and stays at home.) They walk with Anya’s friend Kaila (pictured) and Kaila’s mom.
Anya: Reads Dostoyevsky — for fun.
Also Anya: Routinely puts empty food containers back into the pantry or fridge.
At dinner tonight, Jan mentioned that he found an empty jalapeno cream cheese container in the fridge. This is Anya’s favorite type of cream cheese; the rest of us eat very little or none of it. Anya observes: “Ah! Well, now, er, we can’t KNOW that it was me who put that back in the fridge.”
