Bree’s first sentence. As we were going to meet Anya after her soccer practice, Bree looked down at some leaves (I was carrying her in the Ergo) and said, “Wha i da?”
“It’s a leaf!” I replied. Then I realized what Bree said. WOW! A sentence!
Second sentence? Jan and Bree were watching the photo collage screen saver. Bree said, “ooo da!”
Jan responded, “That’s Daddy and Anya!”
“Hey!” said Angela. “Is that Bree’s second sentence?”
“It could be,” Jan replied skeptically, and continued playing with Bree.
Anya’s journal for today: Now it is morning. I am getting dressed.
Anya and Jan returned from Friday Harbor. In the morning we played some more Trouble! and went geocaching again. (This time we found it!) The flight back was beautiful–a sunny day with vibrant foliage. Jan saw three orcas from the plane on the way back. When we got back to Lake Union, we found the Prius battery dead. We got it started, but the delay caused us to be a few minutes late for Anya’s soccer game. It was the last game of the season, and all the girls were there, including Katie, Ava, Riley, Sophie, and Annabelle. After the game Coach Kirsten hosted everyone for a snack and party at the Harding residence. We came back home, and were home only a short while before the Frazers (Kaila, Kate, Megan, and Marc) came over for dinner.
Annual trip to the South 47 Farm corn maze today. This time we found all the hole punch stations, so we each got a free little pumpkin!
Last week Jan went to a parenting seminar on bullying, sponsored by Anya & Liya’s school. Today Angela took a seminar on pastoral boundaries. She thought it was about bullying too.
Bree loves to dance. When Jan came home this evening, Bree squawked and came toddling towards him. As soon as he picked her up, she started making the “More” sign over and over, then pointing towards the family room. Jan was puzzled by this. Siri saw this and explained that Bree had wanted to dance in front of the screen in the family room all day, and that she probably wanted more. Jan played some music and bounced around with Bree, and she happily waved her arms around and laughed.
Anya had her first real sleepover–at the home of Jane Lord-Krause on Queen Anne. They had fun trick-or-treating on Queen Anne. They both went as “school girl butterflies”, which basically meant wearing matching dresses and then putting on butterfly wings. They collected a lot of candy, which Jane’s mom Julie said they could eat as much of as they wanted. Jane ate so much candy, pizza, and milk that she threw up. Anya learned from Jane’s example and ate somewhat less of all that.
